Writing a compelling "About Page" on Etsy can mean the difference between someone thinking about purchasing from you, and actually doing so. You also want to use this page, to let your clients get to know a little about you. People are more inclined to go with your services, if they feel like they can relate to you. Some of us just aren't comfortable with talking about ourselves. I have personally found that it is much easier to write an "About Page" as if I am talking about a dear friend of mine. You don't want to use this opportunity to brag about yourself or your accomplishments, but don't be afraid to show your clients the parts of your life that you are truly passionate about.
Here is a quick break-down of a formula that I have personally used to create my Etsy "About Page." Of course, you can add or omit details, but this gives you a basic format to follow that has worked for me.
You can also up level your "About Page" game by adding photos! Take advantage of this and use photos that showcase your workspace or better yet of you working in the things that fire you up!! Show behind the scenes images that will give your clients an insider look into what happens when they decide to work with you.
Alrighty, now that we have that under our belts let's go write an amazing "About Page"!! You got this!
Writing your "Home Page" description.
This page is where potential clients will land before they make their way to your shop. You can use this like a mini bio and shop recap.
Like the about page, be sure to add your personality into your write-up. Let your potential client get to know you a little by letting them know what you enjoy most about what you do.
Here is a quick formula to get you started:
*Speak to your ideal client(s) and and speak to what most fires you up. Let them know (describe) that you create is exactly what they want/need or for that matter, what they expect to receive.
*Tell them what they can expect from your shop.
* Cover your personal hobbies. Just a quick review.
*List your IG and FB handles at the bottom. Let them know what's there and what they could be missing out on. I state that I have special offers, giveaways and behind the scenes.
